Dr. Rohsennase Dalton LaBarge carries the responsibilities of the Tehanakarine Rotiskarewake’ clan family whose fire sits at the Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Nation. He is a first-generation physician, graduate of the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and current Emergency Medicine resident physician at URMC. His professional interests include justice driven patient care, helping communities heal from the moral wounds of Settler Colonialism, and advocating for historically excluded students in healthcare, especially Indigenous students. He currently serves as the State Assembly appointee on the NYS Daniels Law Taskforce and as a member of the Indigenous Health Coalition at Common Ground Health. He finds joy outside of the hospital by looming traditional teachings into wampum, living out the principles of Kaianerekowa and learning all he can from the beautiful lands around Katskonserakon / Rochester.
