Accelerating Individuals
By organizing and mobilizing individuals, the Climate Solutions Accelerator grows our “people power” and creates the political will that motivates action from our elected representatives and other community leaders. We help individuals connect with each other and with organizations that can provide climate action opportunities, to develop a robust and impactful local climate movement.
Though our work with individuals primarily focuses on developing leadership skills and empowering them to promote systems-level climate solutions, we also support individuals’ efforts to reduce their personal carbon footprints and facilitate their adoption of climate-friendly technologies and practices.

Color Your Community Green
Our municipalities are the small but mighty building blocks of our region and state, and also of regional and statewide climate action. These towns, villages, and cities possess a great deal of authority and autonomy in “home rule” New York, meaning that much of the climate progress needed in our region can only happen when municipalities take action.
This is why the Climate Solutions Accelerator is mobilizing climate action across the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes Region through the Color Your Community Green (CYCG) initiative.
Finger Lakes Clean Energy Hub (AMPED)
The Finger Lakes Clean Energy Hub (AMPED) is a NYSERDA-funded initiative to ensure that historically underserved communities and populations participate in and benefit from the transition to clean energy. The Hub's services currently include residential and commercial energy advisement, referrals to vetted contractors, and community education and outreach—in collaboration with community partners—to promote beneficial electrification and encourage residents and organizational leaders to electrify their homes, buildings, and vehicles.
Color Your School Green
With youth more concerned than ever about climate change (and understandably so, given that they will inherit the future climate), the opportunity and necessity for youth involvement in climate solutions has never been greater.
Thanks to some dedicated, determined young people in our Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, Color Your School Green (CYSG) has been born, to inform, inspire and engage youth at their schools for impactful climate action.
