Dr. Muhammad Shafiq is the executive director of the Brian and Jean Hickey Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue and is professor of world religions and Islamic studies at Nazareth University, Rochester, New York. He also holds IIIT Chair in Islamic and Interfaith Studies at Nazareth.  As an expert in world religions and interfaith studies, he has led or participated in intra-faith and interfaith conferences and leadership training workshops in America and overseas countries including Chad, Niger, Indonesia, Belgium, Nepal, Georgia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Pakistan, China and other parts of the world. He led in signing agreements of Catholic Muslim Alliance and establish commissions on Jewish, Christian and Muslim relations.  Since 2013, Dr. Shafiq has been successfully organizing a series of International Symposium on Sacred Texts and Human Contexts. He has published over 50 articles and serval books on various topics of social justice and peaceful coexistence.
