Rochester climate advocates call for action against Hochul’s climate law delay

Hochul’s proposal would delay implementation of the law by five years and extend the timeline for achieving emissions reductions by 10 years. Advocates like Graham Hughes say the change could weaken the law.

“Our community will be deeply impacted if the CLCPA does not remain,” Hughes said. “If the CLCPA is not implemented, people in our region will be harmed by increased emissions, and we’ll lose out on so many of the benefits that would come from a transition to a clean energy economy.”
