Jahasia Esgdaille, the Community Engagement Manager at Reconnect Rochester, is a passionate advocate for sustainable transportation in Monroe County. Hailing from NYC (Brooklyn stand up!), Jahasia embraced the freedom and joy of urban and sustainability mobility from an early age. After graduating from Wells College in 2019, she experienced the limitations of car-free living in Rochester. Jahasia's eco-conscious journey led her to sell her first car and prioritize sustainable transportation options like walking, biking, and riding RTS buses. Despite later acquiring a used Toyota Prius, she remains dedicated to reducing her carbon footprint and overall impact on the environment. Jahasia hopes to inspire all Rochesterians to incorporate sustainable transportation trips in their daily lives, and experience the true freedom of life outside of their personal vehicle
