David Alicea is Sierra Club’s New York Field Manager supporting a team of field organizers and setting the strategic direction for organizing efforts. During his time at Sierra Club David jumpstarted on-the-ground efforts to secure New York's offshore wind program, retire New York's coal-fired power plants, and scale up on land-based wind and solar. Before Sierra Club, David worked on various political campaigns in the NY metro area and he has a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Stony Brook University and a Master’s in Environmental Communication from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. David lives outside Rochester with his wife and 7-year-old daughter. He serves as the grants director for Wat Pa Lao Buddadham and on the board of the Laotian American Scholarship Foundation.
