Stephanie Castle has spent nearly a decade advocating for equity in agriculture across New York. As a senior program manager at American Farmland Trust (AFT), she established an initiative for underserved farmers, creating a network of peer support to reduce barriers to conservation and improve farm viability. Prior to joining AFT, Stephanie led a coalition of conservation districts in the Genesee River Watershed, building collaborative partnerships for sustainable land use management. She began her career as a science communicator and grant administrator at the Lake Champlain Basin Program, a congressionally designated agency in Vermont. There, she served on an International Joint Commission workgroup that propelled climate smart policy changes in the US and Canada. Since 2021, Stephanie has been involved with the Climate Solutions Accelerator and served as an advisor to Annie’s Project, a farm business training program for women. She holds an M.S. in Geoscience from Boston College and runs a small farm with her family in Churchville, NY.
