Fionna Lam

Public Engagement Intern

Fionna is the Public Engagement Intern for the summer, working at various events to spread awareness and information about the Accelerator’s various programs, especially AMPED. She is looking to further engage the community in clean energy and learn more about these opportunities in NYS herself. She is a first-generation college student, studying Environmental Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and is an upcoming senior. Fionna first became interested in climate work and environmental advocacy ever since she was in middle school, joining an environmental club there. Ever since, Fionna has made it her goal to dedicate her professional, and sometimes personal, time to remedying climate change.

Fionna is from Mississippi, but has lived in Ohio, Hong Kong, and Indiana. Outside of academics and work, Fionna has been largely involved in Sunrise and Habitat for Humanity at her institution. She enjoys hiking, reading, finding new music, thrifting, and weightlifting.
