"MODEL FOR FUTURE" RG&E RATE CASE APPROVED BY STATE UTILITY REGULATORS

Any time a utility wants to raise (or lower) its rates in New York , it must file a rate case before the Public Service Commission (PSC), the state body charged with regulating utilities. These cases address our energy infrastructure and set our utility rates. For over a year, the Accelerator was deeply involved as an intervenor in the NYSEG/RG&E rate case, and on November 20, the current case was finalized by the Commission. 

The agreement includes some pioneering wins on the gas side that are worth celebrating, and some wins on the electric side--but not enough to completely satisfy the Accelerator and other environmental organizations involved in the negotiations. Get all the key results and details in the full media release
