Climate Solutions Accelerator Launches Monthly Regenerative Futures Lab to Co-Create Our Region’s Future

Rochester, NY – Building on the momentum of this spring’s Climate Solutions Summit, the Genesee-Finger Lakes Climate Collective is launching a new space for learning, reflection, and action. The Regenerative Futures Lab kicks off on Thursday, June 12 from 5:30–7:00 PM at the Kate Gleason Auditorium, located on the first floor of the Central Library on 115 South Ave.

The Lab is a shared space for exploring and questioning our roles in the extractive economy — systems that prioritize short-term profit over people and planet — and how we can shift toward more community-centered, sustainable alternatives.

Each gathering will focus on a specific big idea, using a structured curriculum to support learning, relationship-building, and collaboration. Materials draw from leading thinkers such as the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, Capital Institute, and LIFT Economy. The Lab is nonpartisan and for anyone looking to better understand the connections between our economy, our values, and the health of our communities — no prior experience or background in climate work needed

"The Regenerative Futures Lab is designed to develop a shared understanding of what it means to build a regenerative economy and what concrete steps we can take to move toward that goal." said Abby McHugh-Grifa, Executive Director at Climate Solutions Accelerator. "No matter what shade of green you are, you’re welcome to join us.”

This series aims to support the implementation of the Regional Climate Action Strategy by empowering residents and organizations to explore how values-driven shifts in mindset and behavior can support systemic change. It welcomes contributions of time, energy, and expertise from every sector and demographic group, reflecting a shared commitment to co-creating a healthier, more equitable, and regenerative future for our region.

Anyone who is ready to reflect on their own assumptions, question harmful systems, and engage respectfully with diverse perspectives is encouraged to participate monthly on the second Thursday of each month, alternating between evening and lunchtime time slots. Whether you’re deeply involved in climate work or just beginning to explore your role, the Lab is a place to connect, learn, and act together.
